Herschel Supply proudly introduces a partnership release with Clarks Originals of England. Celebrating 65 years of the Desert Boot, this iconic footwear design is reimagined with custom detailing.
“The coming together of two brands that share a passion for design and creativity is a pretty amazing thing,” explains Lyndon Cormack, Herschel Supply’s co-founder. “We didn’t want to drastically change the Desert Boot because it’s a perfected classic, but having the ability to modernize it with subtle details is a real honor.”
The Desert Boot was designed by Nathan Clark in 1949 and sold a year later. It drew inspiration from Cairo’s fabled Old Bazaar, where a crepe-soled rough suede boot became the footwear of choice for off-duty British servicemen. Available in Navy and Grey premium suede with subtly integrated updates, Herschel Supply’s rendition remains true to the timeless Clarks Originals aesthetic.
The natural rubber crepe sole matches each premium suede color offering for a monochromatic look. Cotton tube laces with silicone-dipped aglets weave through tonal metal eyelets, and the introduction of a welt-stitched premium pebbled leather split tongue complements the upper.
Quality chambray lines the padded collar and tongue, which is detailed with Herschel Supply’s classic woven label and engineered red and white striped tab. Printed with custom branding, smooth leather footbeds round out this modern interpretation of a classic.
The Herschel Supply and Clarks Originals Desert Boot is now available in limited quantities at select stockists in North America.
